220g all-purpose flour
65g unsweetened cocoa powder
300g granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs, room temperature
240ml whole milk, room temperature
120ml vegetable oil
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
240ml boiling water

For the Cherry Syrup:

180ml Cherry Bombz liquor (reserved from the soaked cherries)
50g granulated sugar

For the Ganache:

170g semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
2 teaspoons light corn syrup (optional)
180ml heavy cream

For the Whipped Cream:

480ml heavy cream
60g powdered sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

For Assembling:

1 jar Cherry Bombz (maraschino cherries soaked in Rocketfuel Moonshine), cherries halved, liquor reserved for syrup
Additional whole Cherry Bombz for garnish
Dark chocolate shavings for garnish

1 bottle of Rocket Fuel moonshine

Directions:

Make the Cake:

Preheat oven to 175°C. Grease and flour three 23cm round cake pans, line with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla until combined. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Add the boiling water last, mixing until smooth.

Divide batter evenly among the three pans. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Prepare the Cherry Syrup:

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the reserved Cherry Bombz liquor and granulated sugar. Simmer until sugar is dissolved and mixture is slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Set aside to cool.

Make the Ganache:

Place chopped chocolate and corn syrup (if using) in a bowl. Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until it begins to simmer. Pour over the chocolate and let sit for 2-3 minutes, then stir until smooth. Let cool slightly.

Make the Whipped Cream:

Using a stand mixer with the whisk attachment, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract on medium-high speed until soft peaks form, about 3 minutes.

Assemble the Cake:

Level the tops of the cakes with a serrated knife. Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Brush with cherry syrup, then spread a thick layer of whipped cream on top. Drizzle your wished amount of Rocket Fuel moonshine and dot with halved Cherry Bombz and drizzle with more cherry syrup.

Repeat with the second layer.

Top with the third cake layer. Spread the remaining whipped cream on the top and sides of the cake.

Drizzle the ganache over the top, allowing it to drip down the sides.

Garnish with whole Cherry Bombz and chocolate shavings.

Y’all, this cake is like a trip to the Black Forest with a pit stop at a moonshine distillery. It's got the rich chocolatey goodness of the classic, but with a bold, boozy kick from them Cherry Bombz. Perfect for your next shindig or just 'cause you wanna treat yourself to somethin' special.

So go on and give this Black Forest Cake with Cherry Bombz a try. It’s a slice of southern charm with a twist of moonshine magic. Enjoy, y'all!
